As a divorced dad, spending time with my kids is important, but most employers don’t share my values on this issue. They never have. Parents are no longer willing to sell the time we have with our kids for chump change. Can our society and economy finally change to support this need?

A city engineer was tasked with crossing guard duties at my son’s school recently. There’s a worker shortage in town, but the job is still essential. Funny how we’re finally paying good wages for it!
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! With my late-talking son almost finishing another school year, I wanted to post what I sent my son’s teacher. She’s great! And my son’s school has a program which allows one educator to teach the same class of kids for 2 consecutive years. It definitely came in handy during the pandemic, and they’re doing research to find out the benefits! Take a look if you want to honor our essential workers this week.
